SAMPLE SOIL AMENDMENT PLAN · RF-4
Tomato bed + separate blueberry bed
This University of Missouri validation fixture shows why incompatible crop targets must remain in separate management branches. One soil-measurement set may support more than one crop analysis, but opposite pH directions are never averaged into one amendment program.
Tomato branch
Water-equivalent pH: 5.94915
Target: midpoint 6.5 from the supported 6.0–7.0 range.
Released correction: fish bone meal 3-16-0 at 2.5 lb per 100 sq ft for the supported phosphorus correction.
Hold: exact lime product weight remains held until the required target-specific lime function and product neutralizing value are verified.
Blueberry branch
Target: midpoint pH 5.0 from the supported 4.8–5.2 range.
Constraint: the tested native soil fails the blueberry calcium ceiling and organic-matter criterion.
Action: establish and test a separately contained, low-calcium, high-organic-matter acid bed.
Boundary: do not combine the tomato and blueberry soil programs.
Application path
- Reuse the saved bed geometry; do not request the area again downstream.
- Apply the released tomato phosphorus correction only to the tomato bed.
- Withhold tomato lime until its exact rate is supported.
- Prepare and test the blueberry bed separately.
- Retest before repeating a target-building correction.
